The facade of Pratisthan is of traditional Rajasthan stone arches and latticework, but the back could be Spanish – Portuguese. Whereas the other two sides of the house have equally elegant facades and one cannot tell which is the back of the building. Shri Mataji spent two years patiently teaching the craftsmen to make Her original ideas tangible.

Pratisthan is an artist’s paradise, decorated with intricate carvings, statues, frescoes, cornices, latticework, murals, stained glass fountains, and gardens. Every door is carved and every room bears Her personal touch. It is a blend of a variety of styles which do not conform to the western notion of monism. The mood could swiftly change from Royal Rajput to ethnic or from Victorian to oriental, there are no dark corners. It is Her leela, full of surprises. Each room commands a spectacular view, wherever one turns, the warmth of the Mother thrills the heart. In Her buildings She gives a new heart to the universe.

Coefficience of Vibrations
When She was away in Delhi, in Her absence the architect constructed a narrow staircase to the higher floors. When She returned, She was surprised and said that how could such a narrow staircase be made for such a house. The next day She got it all demolished and designed a wide staircase for the house. She had a natural sense of proportion and therefore everything in the house was in balance. And that balance created the coefficience of the
Kundalini. In this way, She explained that everything has a balance and coefficience and Her photograph emits vibrations that have the same coefficience. This is how the spirit penetrates matter. The secret of Pratishthan is how the spirit can penetrate into matter. You may be sitting in any corner of Pratishthan you will feel the vibrations. So it is a natural Swayambhu and nobody can disturb it. It is the innate quality of Pratishthan and it cannot be disturbed.

The facade Must Reflect Mother’s Love
The architect wanted a very imposing facade for the building to impress people. She said that it is a ‘Mother house’ and people should not feel awe when entering Her house, but they should feel the warmth and the love of the Mother. In which there is no awe. So she went Herself to a place called Makrana in Rajasthan to find such a façade. There She found a Haveli built in latticework in Jaisalmer stone. She asked the owner if he would like to sell the Haveli. He agreed and then she got the whole facade dismantled and brought to Pune and again got it mounted in Pratishthan. She also found that in the west the Spanish architecture had a lot of feminine and motherly qualities, so she designed the exterior façade according to the Spanish architecture.
Normally many houses do have a good façade but they ignore the other sides of the house.
She made all the sides equally attractive and that’s what makes Pratishthan a unique architectural design.

AGRICULTURE

Series Green Revolution

She set up a research farm in Pune. With vibrations, one sun-flower became over one foot in diameter and the agriculture department became interested in Sahaja Yoga methods. The Government of Maharashtra granted Her land at NeeraNarsingpur to experiment in Sahaja Yoga methods for producing non-hybrid seeds. Shri Mataji loves flowers and plants and animals respond better to Her vibrations than human beings. Roses from her farm have won many prizes in flower shows. She feels the growth of all living beings on Her own parasympathetic nervous system.

ARCHITECTURE

She has personally drawn up the plans of two of the finest monuments as well as several Sahaja Yoga ashrams throughout the world. Her house in Pune, called Pratisthan, is an architect's dream. Another house in Noida near Delhi, is a marvel. She designed a sprawling ashram with a traditional courtyard in Konkan Bhavan, near Bombay and another in Delhi. Also a school in Dharamsala, is like a hill fort in the Himachali style.
